<br>The Muslim Women's Welfare Organization branch in Orissa strives to empower Muslim women economically and socially. Therefore, our current projects are income generating schemes and awareness programs.<br><br>

<td>We have two centers, one in <em>Chatia</em> and another at <em>Korai</em>.</td>

<td valign="top">At both the centers, we have started tailoring and embroidery classes for girls, widows, needy, disabled and divorced women.<br><font color="red">Objective</font>: To help them earn their own living in future. <td valign="top">The women of our centre at <em>Korai</em> are growing marigold flowers and bananas.<br><font color="red">Objective</font>: To help them learn and earn. Till now they have earned a small sum from floriculture. <td valign="top">We recently started imparting computer education and providing the students complete their diploma in <em>Computer Application and Multilingual DTP</em>.<br><font color="red">Objective</font>: To help the students learn IT in their village at an affordable cost.<br> </td>

<td valign="top">At both the centres we have a weekly discussion class on the rights and duties of women from the perspective of the holy Quran and Hadith. This is addressed by a learned and experienced Hafiz sahib.</td>

<td valign="top">At this center girls and women are taught Tailoring, Embroidery, Fabric painting, Spoken English and Personality Development, Cooking, Islamic Studies and way of living. <td valign="top" nowrap><strong> <font color=red>�</font> Informal School</strong>:</td>
<td valign="top">This school is at Sutahat, Cuttack. Here we identify, motivate and teach the drop out girls to complete their education. We propose to link this project with Indira Gandhi National Open University (<a href="http://www.ignou.ac.in/" target="_blank">IGNOU</a>), to provide authenticity to their certificate.<br> </td>

<td valign="top"><strong> <font color=red>�</font> Awareness</strong>:</td>
<td valign="top">We organize awareness programmes in villages as well as towns and cities. Our team consists of Advocates, Religious teachers, Social activists and Co-ordinators move in a caravan called <em>KARWAIN-ROSHNI</em>. So far we have visited and organized these programs in several villages (<em>Barambarda, Islampur, Kalyani, Darpan, Gope, Haldigaria</em>), and towns (<em>Cuttack, Jatni, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Chatia</em>).<br><font color="red">Objective</font>: To educate women about their religious and constitutional rights.<br><br><img src="images/ob_up_awareness1.jpg" height="156" style="border: 1px solid #888888"> <img src="images/ob_up_awareness2.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #888888"><br> </td>

<td valign="top">We have started a survey on <em>The Status of Muslim Women in Orissa</em>, starting with the Bhadrak district. Due to financial constraints we are currently conducting the survey at district level.</td>
